1. "I Am Ready To Pray For COVID-19 Patients In Isolation Centres" - TB Joshua.
Pastor Temitope Joshua of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has said that he is ready to virtually offer prayer for COVID-19 patients in isolation centres around the world.
In an announcement posted to Joshua’s YouTube channel, Emmanuel TV, the cleric called on relevant government and medical authorities to “organise those who are in isolation” and “arrange how to connect them to us on Emmanuel TV”.
“The blessing of Jesus is for those who knock and ask,” he said in the announcement, adding, “In whatever way you support to make this happen, we are a team; we are not doing more than you”.
“Together we shall pray for them. Together we shall be set free from this COVID-19,” the statement continued, quoting the Biblical reference in Luke 4:40 where Jesus healed “all who had various kinds of sickness after the mass prayer.”
“The same anointing that heals one is also able to heal all at the same time,” it concluded, calling on all interested parties to contact the church via their email address info@emmanuel.tv.
Last week, the World Health Organisation reacted to a trending video in which a Cameroonian medical doctor was ‘healed’ from COVID-19 after receiving “interactive prayer” from Joshua’s ministry, acknowledging “spiritual leadership is very important in a time like this”.
His testimony was followed days later by a couple of university lecturers who equally acknowledged receiving healing from the dreaded virus, replete with medical reports before and after prayers from Emmanuel TV.
Since starting its ‘Interactive Prayer’ – in which online prayer is offered via video calls – Joshua’s ministry has prayed for COVID-19 patients from around the world including citizens of USA, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Honduras and Cuba.
2. 2 soldiers, 17 terrorists killed in Boko Haram ambush in Borno.
Two soldiers have been killed and four others injured in an ambush by Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters along Damboa-Maiduguri road, Borno State.
John Enenche, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMO), who disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja, said 17 terrorists were also killed in the attack.
The Coordinator said the troops of 25 Task Force Brigade deployed at Damboa in conjunction with elements of Sector 2 Special Forces while on clearance operations along Damboa -Maiduguri Road on Tuesday, 7 July, encountered the Boko Haram ambush team along their axis of advance.
“Instinctively, the valiant troops out flanked and engaged the criminals with an overwhelming volume of firepower forcing them to withdraw in disarray.
“In the aftermath of the encounter, 17 Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province criminals were neutralized as several others were believed to have narrowly escaped with varying degrees of gun shot wounds while a cache of arms and ammunition were equally captured by the gallant troops.
“Regrettably, 2 valiant soldiers paid the supreme price while 4 others were wounded in action. However, the wounded in action soldiers have been evacuated to a military medical facility and currently responding positively to treatment”, he said.
Enenche further informed that the theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole has been directed to immediately deploy a Special Forces Battalion to reinforce and dominate Damboa – Bulabulin – Maiduguri axis to completely deny the terrorists any chance of escape during the final assault against the criminals.
Relatedly, the coordinator also disclosed that the troops of Sector 3 and Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole have killed several terrorists who attempted to breach Gubio Town in the Northern part of Borno State.
He said a gun truck was destroyed by the combined efforts of the land and air forces during the attack.
“During the encounter, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and fighter jets were scrambled to the location. The ISR aircraft spotted the terrorists in their gun trucks and vectored the jets to engage them, neutralizing one of the gun trucks and its occupants.
“The ISR aircraft continued to provide situational awareness as the ground troops engaged the terrorists on the ground, inflicting further casualties on the terrorists”, the coordinator said.

4. Magu And His Boys Run EFCC Like A Cult – Shehu Sani.
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu ani has accused Ibrahim Magu, the embattled acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of running the agency like a cult.
Magu was yesterday suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari after he was accused of diverting loots recovered from corruption.
In reaction, Shehu Sani said that the antigraft agency has some cruel officers who have the backing of their boss Magu.
“Contrary to the facade you see from the outside, the EFCC has been run by an inside cult called “the Magu Boys” or “the Chairman Squad,” he said.
“They are a select cream of vicious and cruel officers who operate exclusively and with impunity and only report directly to their boss. The inside cult is the dark and immoral aspect of the agency engaged in persecution, blackmail, frame ups and cruelty.
“The cult has been the wheel behind the ordeal of their embattled Boss. Until they are rooted out from the agency also, I believe a lot of revelations will be coming out from other marginalized and honest officers in the so-called anti-corruption agency.”
Shehu Sani is currently being prosecuted by the EFCC on a two-count of bribery.
