This is what you should do to an electrocuted person to save his/her life before taking him/her to the hospital

When a person is electrocuted, the passage of electrical current through the body may stun him, causing his breathing and even his heartbeat to stop. The electrical current may cause burns both where it enters the body and where it exits the body to go to "earth".in some cases, the current also causes muscular spasms that may prevent a casuality from breaking contact with it,so the person may still be electrically charged("live") when you come on the scene.it usually occur in the home or workplace, due to contact with low voltage current (opposite). They may also result from contact with sources of high - voltage current such as fallen power lines.people who are electrocuted by high-voltage current rarely survive.

Steps to save an electrocuted person.

1.switch off the electric current if possible, but if not stand on dry insulating material such as telephone directory or wooden box and use a broom handle to move the electrical source away from the causalty.

2.Do not touch casualty directly to avoid been electrocuted.

3.if it is not possible to break contact with wooden object, loop a length of rope around the causalty's ankles or under the arm taking great care not to touch him and pull him away from the source of electrical current.

4.After separating the casualty, check if still conscious.

5.If conscious and injured irrigate the affected area with cold water to cool the burns.

6.place a sterile dressing,a clean, folded triangular bandage or some other clean, non fluffy material over the affected area to protect against airborne infection.

6.Reassure the causalty to keep him calm.

7.lf unçonscious, open the airway and check breathing;be prepared to give rescue breaths and chest compression if necessary.

8.Finally, transport the causalty to the hospital for proper management
